This Sunday, Kitah Vav started learning the story of Joshua,
from the death of Moses up through the Battle of Jericho. Following up on last
week’s lesson on oral tradition and interpretation, the students were each
given two written segments (out of order) from the story of Joshua. We then
illustrated and interpreted our own segments through the modern medium of comic
book panels, complete with pictures, dialogue, and narration. At the close of
our independent work, we came back together to share our completed story, and
compared the written segments the students were originally given with their
illustrated interpretations. I have compiled the comic book panels into a book;
all students will be given a hard copy of this book at their next class.
